“I feel people have really strayed away from the reason we all started liking John in the first place - HIS MUSIC! Who cares who he has dated, is dating, and may date in the future. It’s not our business, regardless of whether he is in the public eye or not. He doesn’t stay watchful of our private lives, right? It’s because of the paparazzi and media, people are making his personal life more important than what he is really here to do. Everyone needs to get back on track and remember that. And to the people bringing up his past relationships…put yourself in his shoes. How would u feel if everyone kept opening up wounds of the past and kept pouring salt into them? Why is it okay for you to do it to him? We all have pasts, we all make mistakes, we all learn lessons. Let it go people! Announcement: Change of Ownership

Hi everyone!

This will be my last post as owner of this blog. As of today, I will remove my ties with this blog, and it will be taken over by the new owner. Whether she wants to reveal her name or Tumblr blog is her own personal decision.

I have great faith that she will run this blog exceptionally well. She submitted wonderful confessions, and I believe you will be much more impressed with her ownership of the blog than mine.

I’ve had a lot of fun running this blog since August 2011, and I’ve learned so much since then as well - both about John Mayer and Tumblr. I’m truly grateful for this experience, and want to thank you all for supporting me.

Nope! Make them however you want! It’s generally good to have a 500px width though, but it’s up to you :)

I’ve kinda fallen out of love with this blog. I don’t have the time or desire to make the confessions you all submit, but I don’t want this blog to end. If someone wants to run it, or a group of you, send me a message, and I’ll make a decision within the next few days. You can change the blog however you see fit, and run it however you want. I only ask that you do a better job than me!

Update: two people have expressed interest, but have not answered my request to create confessions. So, if you want to own this blog, send me a message, and attach an image - i.e., a confession that you have created (on Photoshop, Photoscape, etc).

Haha, it took you that long to find another artist? I addressed this ages ago. I still stand by my opinion. But I never said Taylor Swift was the only one.

Songs written in spite are wrong. It’s cheesy and pathetic. And it’s wrong on so many levels.

The people that these artists are singing about are actual people, with actual lives, feelings, emotions, etc. As soon as people hear these songs, they search their names, hoping to find them on the internet (for I don’t know what; I just hope that they don’t harass them further). Which is why I hate that Taylor Swift mentions people in her songs. Can you imagine the shit ton of abuse her billion ex-boyfriends would receive, simply because they went on like one date with her and then ended things?

Like, check out Carolyne Steven’s twitter page. In her bio, she says: “Was living a normal life until my ex-boyfriend Mike Posner called me out in a song on his debut album.”

Now, this could be a light-hearted comment, but it could also be something more. Perhaps she was being harassed by tweeny-boppers because she allegedly cheated on Mike Posner. It doesn’t matter what the situation was, songs like these are defamatory!

It’s not right that artists are allowed to write things like this. Whether it’s Taylor Swift or anyone else. Personally, (and I’ve mentioned this before,) I would look into my legal rights. Because if someone wrote a song that mentioned my name, or it was explicitly obvious that it was about me, I would want to seek compensation.

There is no way in the world I would let somebody use my name for their own benefit. It’s my name to use, not theirs.

And before anyone considers calling me a hypocrite, I would say the exact same thing for songs of an opposite nature. Like, if they were positive songs. I would not sit quietly and allow people to use my name like that.

And my heart goes out to people like Carolyne, Drew, Taylor, Joe, John, Stephen, Adam, etc. who have been victims of these terrible breaches of privacy.
